Seven people were injured, two seriously, in a head-on collision last night in the 10100 block of Liberty Road in the Deer Park area, Baltimore County police said.

The drivers of the two vehicles were flown by MedEvac helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where one was in critical condition and the other in stable condition, police said.

The five others -- members of an Eldersburg family and a friend who were in a 1984 Chevrolet Caprice -- were taken to Northwest Hospital Center for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

Officer Eric Baummer said that a 20-year-old man was driving a black Ford Ranger pick-up truck east on Liberty Road about 8: 30 p.m. when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with the westbound Caprice driven by a 61-year-old man.
