Outlook: By winning four in a row and six of seven, Loyola is 2 1/2 games behind first-place Canisius in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Iona slipped into second place with Thursday's 98-89 overtime home loss to Manhattan, but has won 11 of its past 13. The Gaels are 9-1 at home. Senior F Mindaugus Timinskas, who has been named the MAAC Player of the Week five times, is averaging 20.0 points in his last three games. Junior G John McDonald, who transferred from Loyola to Iona last season, had 14 points Thursday. The Gaels lead the series, 15-5, including an 85-78 overtime win at Reitz Arena on Jan. 8. Loyola junior G Mike Powell is the MAAC's second-leading scorer at 18.9 ppg.
