WMC dean to review Kaye Gibbons' fiction

Joan Coley, dean and provost at Western Maryland College, will present a review of Kaye Gibbons' work of fiction, "Sights Unseen," at noon Thursday in McDaniel Lounge.

The book depicts a daughter's love for her troubled mother who is battling manic-depression.

"There are so many books that are written about similar subjects or other problems that dwell on the negative side and point fingers of blame," Coley said. "This book features a person who not only survives, but is able to thrive and find good in the situation, and even laugh a little."

Participants are invited to bring a bag lunch. Beverages will be provided.
