Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Southern District

Robbery try: A gunman demanded money from a woman in the 1100 block of Nanticoke St. on Wednesday then fled when the woman said she had none.

Central District

Burglary/arrest: Police responding to an alarm at Howard Discounts in the 300 block of N. Howard St. yesterday arrested a man after he allegedly broke a window to gain entry. Sylvester Robert Kemp, 37, of the 500 block of W. Lafayette Ave. was charged with burglary.

Theft: A warrant was to be issued charging an employee of Edison Parking in the first block of Market Place with stealing $1,000 in receipts yesterday.

Theft: An employee of a Block nightclub was standing in the first block of N. Calvert St. yesterday with $150 in his hand when a man walked by, took the money and fled.

Northern District

Bank robbery/arrest: Police responding to a robbery at the Provident Bank of Maryland in the 500 block of E. Belvedere Ave. yesterday afternoon arrested a suspect, who was getting into a taxicab after a dye-pack exploded in his hands. Police said the man had several identities and that charges were pending.

Robbery: A 46-year-old disabled man was in the 1400 block of W. 41st St. on Wednesday when two men knocked him to the ground and robbed him of $2 and $17 worth of frozen foods.

Northwestern District

Robbery: A 47-year-old woman was in the 3000 block of Piedmont Ave. on Wednesday when a man stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at nearly $300.

Carjacking try: A female motorist was stopped in the 5600 block of Wesley Ave. on Wednesday when a couple demanded her 1995 Toyota Camry. Police said the couple walked away when the motorist convinced them she couldn't understand them.

Southwestern District

Burglary: A 19-inch television and computer equipment, all valued at more than $2,000, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 600 block of Cooks Lane.

White Marsh Precinct

Stolen car: A 1992 Chrysler LeBaron with tags AGB 008 was stolen Wednesday in the 4500 block of Springwood Ave.

Parkville Precinct

Burglary: Nearly $400 was stolen Wednesday from a doctor's office in the 8100 block of Harford Road.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: A cellular phone valued at more than $100 was stolen Wednesday from a car in a garage in the 12300 block of Cleghorn Road.

Theft/arrest: Police arrested a woman who attempted to leave the Sears store at Hunt Valley Mall on Wednesday without paying for clothing valued at more than $70.

North Point Precinct

Theft: A warrant was to be issued for the arrest of an employee of Sam's Club, a discount store in the 8200 block of Eastern Blvd., who is suspected of stealing nearly $2,000 after filling out false refund forms between Dec. 31 and Feb. 4.
