Board OKs plan to add store to gas station

February 03, 1997|By Shanon D. Murray | Shanon D. Murray,SUN STAFF

The Howard County Board of Appeals last week approved a request by the owners of a gas station to add a convenience store to their business.

No opposition has been expressed to the proposal by X-tra Mart in the 7300 block of U.S. 1 near Meadowridge Road.

The owners' request to extend their hours of operation to 24 hours also was approved.

The plan calls for the building, a canopy and two fuel pump stations to be demolished and rebuilt.

The convenience store will replace a closed repair business on the site. Thirteen new parking spaces also are planned.
