A man who suffers from cerebral palsy and who gets around in a wheelchair was slashed with a knife yesterday during an attempted robbery on a parking lot in East Baltimore, city police said.
Charles Edward Watson, 33, of the 900 block of Quantril Way in Armistead Gardens was on the Erdman Shopping Center lot in the 4500 block of Erdman Ave. about 12: 20 p.m. when a man demanded money, police said.
They said Watson didn't understand his assailant or didn't comply fast enough and was slashed across the chest. He got to his home a mile away. At Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, he received seven stitches.
