25 years ago (weeks of Jan. 30-Feb. 5, 1972):

The Board of Education voted in favor of an early childhood education program for Lisbon Elementary School. The program was requested by parents in the rural Lisbon area, so that their pre-school children could have an opportunity to interact with other children and adults other than their parents, before they entered kindergarten.

50 years ago (week of Jan. 26-Feb. 1, 1947):

Home Demonstration Agent Mildred Flanagan announced that TC tailoring school for homemakers would be held at the Masonic Lodge in Ellicott City.
