Two men robbed a grocery near Taylorsville and fled with an undisclosed amount of money Wednesday night, state police said.
A police dog unsuccessfully tried to track the suspects, who left through a rear basement door after they had forced two employees into a walk-in refrigerator, police said. Neither employee was injured in the 7 p.m. incident.
One man was described as thin with reddish-brown hair. He was wearing a baseball hat, thick-framed sunglasses and a red bandanna over his face. He was armed with a can of chemical spray, police said. The other man weighed about 300 pounds, wore a white T-shirt, loosely fitting pants and a sweat jacket. He rifled cash registers and a cabinet drawer to grab the money while the thin man threatened employees, police said.
Anyone with information about the incident may call Tfc. John Reininger at the Westminster barracks of the Maryland State Police at (410) 876-8989.
