Complaints have been made by Annapolis oystermen that the Patapsco Dredging Co., engaged in digging the channel in the Severn River, was covering up with mud the natural oyster beds between the city and Bay Ridge. -- The Sun, Jan. 15, 1897.
The funeral of Mrs. Marie Lloyd Steele, 92, was held today from St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Annapolis. Mrs. Steele was a daughter of Francis Scott Key, author of "The Star-Spangled Banner." Interment was in the city cemetery. -- The Sun, Jan. 26, 1897.
