ST. JANE FRANCES school in Riviera Beach will celebrate Catholic Schools Week next week with a packed calendar of events. The theme is "Keep Faith in Your Child's Future," the school motto.
The Home School Association gets a head start on the activities with a roller-skating party for students and their families from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow at Pasadena Skating Rink.
School families are invited to attend the 9 a.m. Mass Sunday at St. Jane Frances Roman Catholic Church for the formal beginning of the week's activities and to honor the winners of the Audrey Smith Memorial award for volunteers of the year.
A book fair will be open in the school after services Sunday and from 8: 30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Teacher Appreciation Day will be celebrated Monday with flowers for the faculty.
Parents are invited to an open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday. Classroom visits and activities are planned.
Wednesday is National Appreciation for Catholic Schools Day. Students will receive a gift from their teachers: No homework.
The support staff, pastor and administration will be honored Thursday with a box luncheon prepared by each homeroom.
The week will end with two events Friday. The day starts at 8: 30 a.m. with a school Mass with parents invited. It ends with a family bingo night in the school hall, sponsored by the Home School Association. Doors open at 6: 30 p.m.
Admission is $5 for families of three or fewer and $7 for families of four or more.
Food and refreshments will be for sale.
New student registrations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 4-6 on this schedule: prekindergarten, Feb. 4; kindergarten, Feb. 5; and grades one through eight, Feb. 6.

Learning center registration
Pasadena Early Learning Center at Pasadena United Methodist Church, 61 Ritchie Highway, will hold registration for new preschool students Monday.
Openings are available for children ages 3 to 5. Classes meet from 9 a.m. to noon or 12: 30 p.m. to 3: 30 p.m. Classes for 3-year-olds meet Tuesdays and Thursdays. Monthly tuition is $76. The program for 4- to 5-year-olds meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Monthly tuition is $112.
A registration fee of $35 will be charged. Parents new to the program are invited to visit the school.

Peer support group
The Spectrum peer support group will begin another series of programs at Northeast High School Parent Involvement Center Feb. 6.
Spectrum is for teens in high school or middle school who have experienced a significant loss in their lives, either by death or divorce.
"The purpose of the program is to provide young adults with an opportunity to meet new friends who share similar experiences under the guidance of a trained, caring adult," said Pat Toolan, program coordinator.
Sessions will be held Thursday evenings through May 22. Students participating must make a commitment to attend all sessions. Information: 437-6400.
'Friends for Life'
Anne Arundel County Animal Control Agency will sponsor a "Friends for Life" program for children at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mountain Road library.
The program will help youngsters understand the responsibility BTC of pet ownership. Information: 222-6699.
