January 03, 1997

Someone threw a Molotov cocktail through the front window of a Crofton home Wednesday, igniting the stairwell, county police said.

Leonette Rawls, 49, of the 2400 block of Vineyard Lane, called police after she heard the window break shortly after 2 a.m., police said.

The device set fire to stairs near the front of the house. No one was injured.

Firefighters were called about 2: 30 a.m. and doused the flames within an hour, said J. Gary Sheckells, a Fire Department spokesman.

Sheckells said he did not have information on the amount of damage to the house.
