Keiner sends Towson into final

Sonia Keiner's jump shot with with 37 seconds left helped Towson State hold on to a 61-54 win over Bucknell (4-6) last night in the second game of the CoreStates Classic at La Salle University.

Keiner had a team-high 12 points and six rebounds for the Tigers (6-3), who led 33-26 at halftime. Bucknell's Jessica Mathieson led all scorers with 16 points and added 11 rebounds.

Towson plays La Salle at 8 tonight for the championship.

Bowie State 92, West Virginia State 40: Host Bowie State rolled to a 44-point lead at halftime and held West Virginia State to 26 percent shooting on the way to victory in last night's championship game of the Best Western Classic.

Tarsha Wilson's 13 points led four Bowie State players in double figures. Brandey Lemons added 11 points for the Bulldogs (7-1), who shot nearly 61 percent in the first half to break open the game.

Kent 88, Coppin State 29: Jenny Kempf's 14 points led Kent (3-5) past Coppin State (0-4) in the opening round of the Lady Panther Invitational in Pittsburgh.
