Westminster man's poem published in collection

Leonard Frederick Lauber of Westminster has had a poem published in a treasury of poetry compiled by the National Library of Poetry in Owings Mills.

His "Maryland's Rolling Hills" was published in "Memories of Tomorrow." The theme of his poem is beautiful Maryland.

Lauber has been writing for several years.

His poem was published after he entered a contest sponsored by the National Library of Poetry.

Fire

Westminster: Firefighters from Reese, Pleasant Valley and Manchester assisted Westminster at 9: 11 p.m. Sunday for an electrical fire on West Green Street. Units were out 51 minutes.

Westminster: Firefighters from Reese assisted Westminster at 7: p.m. Saturday, responding to a house fire in the 500 block of Poole Road. Units were out 50 minutes.

Pleasant Valley: Firefighters from Westminster and Reese assisted Pleasant Valley at 8: 34 p.m. Friday, responding to a garage fire in the 800 block of Hughes Shop Road. Units were out 25 minutes.

Westminster: Firefighters responded at 8: 09 a.m. Friday to a fire alarm in the 1300 block of Alumni Drive. Units were out 19 minutes.

Police

Westminster: The owner of an East Main Street auto shop told police Saturday that someone stole a taillight assembly from a vehicle parked at the business. The loss was estimated at $250.

Westminster: A Willis Street resident told police Friday that someone broke the rear window of her vehicle while it was parked in front of her home. Damage was estimated at $150.

Westminster: A Maple Avenue resident told police Sunday that property was stolen from two vehicles outside her home. The loss was put at $1,639.
