Pizza deliveryman is attacked with bat

A pizza deliveryman was attacked Friday night in the 5900 block of Harper's Farm Road, Howard County police said.

Two boys, about 10 and 15 years old, approached the deliveryman about 11: 30 p.m. and asked him for a light for a cigarette, a police report said.

When the victim said he didn't have a lighter, the boys, who were wearing dark clothing, demanded money and struck him in the head with a baseball bat, police said.

No money was taken, police said.

Police reported that the juveniles tried to take the man's car, but were scared away.
