Hopkins Hospital promotes Reitz to senior v.p.

Johns Hopkins Hospital has named Judy A. Reitz, a Hopkins administrator for the past 15 years, senior vice president for operations. She retains her positions as vice president-operations integration for Johns Hopkins Health System and vice president and chief operating officer of Johns ++ Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. She came to Hopkins in 1981 as director of nursing practice.

McCormick names Lissauer to global export post

McCormick & Co. has promoted Fred Lissauer to vice president, global export business development. In his new responsibilities, he will head the newly formed strategic business unit for export business development. Before joining the company in 1988, the Owings Mills resident was with Beech-Nut Nutrition Corp.

McCormick also named H. Grey Goode Jr. director of tax. A former senior tax counsel with RJR Nabisco Inc., he holds a master of law degree in taxation from the University of Miami. A member of the Tax Executives Institute and the American Bar Association, Goode resides in Phoenix, in northern Baltimore County.

Simply Elegant Catering names Wiedman chief chef

Simply Elegant Catering has selected William Wiedman IV as executive chef at its Grey Rock Mansion facility. His duties will include overseeing all culinary operations and food preparation.

The Carney resident was formerly executive chef at the Sheraton Towson and provided catering services for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.

Leslie Bertolette joins Anne Burnside Love group

Anne Burnside Love & Associates has appointed Leslie C. Bertolette as proof-reading editor and media planner for the Frederick-based advertising and public relations firm. Her responsibilities will include quality control of publication materials, market media research and preparation of media placement strategies. A resident of Walkersville, Bertolette is a graduate of Dickinson College.

Sandy Spring National Bank of Maryland announced that Michael R. Penyak has joined the Olney-based financial institution as a vice president and manager of the bank's community lending department.

He will oversee all aspects of consumer lending, including aircraft financing. The University of Baltimore graduate was formerly with Mercantile Safe-Deposit & Trust Co. Penyak is a resident of Ellicott City and is active in the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association.

Kauffman to head Semmes' government contracts group

Semmes, Bowen & Semmes, a Baltimore-headquartered regional law firm, selected Michael W. Kauffman to head its Washington-based government contracts group. Kauffman is a law graduate of Georgetown University whose practice covers public procurement law and includes contract, state and federal contractors and small business representation.

Stephanie McCullough joins Alcatel as manager

Alcatel Engineering & Service Center, based in Bethesda, named Stephanie McCullough business development manager. A telecommunications industry specialist, she was formerly an international telecommunications trade specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce. She holds a master's degree in international affairs from Johns Hopkins University.

Knakkergaard promoted to manager at McCrone

McCrone Inc. appointed Thora Knakkergaard as a project manager for the Annapolis-based civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm. He will manage the design of water distribution and treatment and wastewater collection projects. A graduate of Northeastern University, the Annapolis resident is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Water Environment Federation.

Masi, Greaney promoted at Cary Winston/Barrueta

Cary Winston/Barrueta promoted Gregory Masi and Kevin J. Greaney to associate senior vice presidents for the independent commercial realty firm.

Masi specializes in commercial and industrial leasing and sales in the Baltimore-Washington corridor. Active in community affairs and the Anne Arundel Trade Council, the Annapolis resident has a master's degree in education from the University of South Florida.

Greaney, a specialist in landlord-tenant relations, resides in Silver Spring and is a graduate of East Carolina University. He is also active in the Christ Child Society and the Prince George's County Chamber of Commerce.
