Residents thanked for helping the needy

Needy Carroll County families, especially those with young children, will have a brighter Christmas, thanks to the Carroll County Detachment of the Marine Corps League and generous countians.

League members spent the first two weeks of December at Cranberry Mall collecting toys and money for Human Services Programs of Carroll County, which distributes the items to needy area families.

Linda Long, wife of League Commandant Melvin Long, said $641.52 and several car and truck loads of toys and a few clothes were given to Human Services.

Long termed the drive successful and thanks those who donated.
