Jeffrey A. Bourne, director of the Department of Recreation and Parks for Howard County, has been awarded the Gold Medal Award of the Professional Grounds Management Society, the highest industry award given. The award recognizes lifetime contribution to the green industry nationwide. It is conferred only through a unanimous vote by the society's board of directors and has been presented only 13 times since the organization's founding in 1911. Bourne will be president of the 1997 Green Industry Expo, one of the largest landscape expositions in the United States.

Christopher L. Williams has been appointed by Altieri Homes to the position of sales manager for the communities of Winter Oaks in Howard County and Edrich Manor in Baltimore County, responsible for managing new home sales.
