Teens accused of shooting men with pellet guns

December 20, 1996

State police arrested two teen-agers in Eldersburg Wednesday on charges of shooting two men with pellet guns.

The boys, 15 and 16, were not identified because of their age. They were released to their parents, pending further action by juvenile authorities, police said.

Kenneth E. Bowen, 41, of Union Bridge and Gary K. Lewis, 24, of East Baltimore were stopped in a pickup truck at a traffic light near Route 32 about 11: 45 p.m. when the teen-agers fired their pellet guns for an unknown reason, police said.

One of the men was struck several times by pellets, police said. Neither man needed medical attention, police said.

The men drove to a nearby location and called police, giving troopers a description of the teens, who were on foot.

Police recovered a pellet gun and arrested one youth while investigating a fight at a nearby gas station.

They found another youth walking on Bartholow Road.
