Object breaks window on bus carrying schoolchildren

Someone threw an object at a school bus taking children home from Lothian Elementary School on Monday, breaking a window, county police said.

The bus, carrying 15 to 20 children, was northbound in the 4300 or 4400 block of Sands Road in Harwood about 3: 40 p.m., when the object cracked a window on the rear driver side. No one on the bus was injured, and police did not find the object.

Two men arrested on shoplifting charges

County police arrested two men accused of shoplifting Monday from stores at Annapolis Mall.

Rodney A. Bell, 23, of the 5400 block of Lewellen Ave., Baltimore, is accused of stuffing $529 worth of clothing from Banana Republic into his pants and trying to leave without paying about 2 p.m., police said. Store security detained the suspect, a store employee, until police arrived. He was charged with theft.

John Miller, 22, of the 1300 block of Coy Drive, Glen Burnie, is accused of leaving Hecht's with two Sony Watchman televisions, worth $318, in his jacket about 8: 30 p.m., police said. He was charged with theft.
