Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Northwestern District

Bank robbery: A man robbed the Provident Bank of Maryland branch in the 6600 block of Reisterstown Road after giving a teller a holdup note yesterday.

Robbery: A man was walking to his car in the 3300 block of Denison St. on Monday when a gunman robbed him of two gold rings valued at nearly $150.

Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a man of two compact discs and a pager, all valued at $140, in the 2700 block of Allendale Road on Monday.

Burglary: Cash and property, all valued at $400, were stolen Monday from a house in the 5400 block of Jonquil Ave.

Shooting: Two men were arguing over drugs in the 3300 block of Spaulding Ave. on Monday when a third man shot one of them in the chest. The 22-year-old victim was in serious condition yesterday at Sinai Hospital.

Western District

Burglary: A videocassette recorder valued at $300 was stolen Monday from a house in the 700 block of N. Gilmor St.

Theft: Nearly $300 worth of food was stolen Monday from a house in the 2700 block of Edmondson Ave.

Theft/arrest: A 40-year-old woman was arrested Monday after she tried to steal nearly $12 worth of tuna fish from the Super Pride food market in the 2000 block of W. Lafayette Ave.

Robbery: A Baltimore County woman was in a house in the 800 block of W. Lexington St. on Sunday when a man she knows robbed her of jewelry valued at more than $2,000. A warrant has been issued charging the man, a 19-year-old resident of the house, with robbery.

Eastern District

Theft: A CB radio and a metal box containing tools, all valued at $600, were stolen Monday from a United Parcel Service truck parked in the 900 block of Curtain Ave.

Southwestern District

Shooting: A 20-year-old man was walking in the 600 block of Allendale St. on Monday when someone called him by name, then shot him in the upper left leg when he turned around. The victim was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Robbery: A gunman robbed a woman of nearly $20 in the 3500 block of W. Lexington St. on Monday.

Burglary: Jewelry, stereo equipment, a telephone, microwave oven and a TV, all valued at more than $1,500, were stolen Monday from a house in the 500 block of Stamford Road. Entry was gained with a key.

Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a 56-year-old man of $75 in the 4500 block of Edmondson Ave. on Monday.

Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a 31-year-old man of jewelry and cash -- all valued at more than $1,000 -- in the 2900 block of Elgin Ave. on Monday.

Stolen car: A gray 1989 Oldsmobile with tags CKM 367 was stolen Monday in the 1000 block of DeSoto Road.

Bank robbery try/arrest: A 31-year-old man gave a holdup note to a teller at Advance Federal Savings & Loan Association, in the 3400 block of Clifton Ave., then fled without taking any money Monday. He was arrested shortly afterward.

Bank robbery: A teen-age boy gave a teller a note and robbed the Signet Bank in the 3200 block of W. North Ave. on Monday.

Burglary: Police were seeking a man with a limp, who removed a window air-conditioner to enter a house in the 2900 block of Riggs Ave. on Monday and stole a videocassette recorder, videos and an electronic TV game, all valued at more than $1,000.

Northeastern District

Shooting: Two men were in the 5000 block of Raintree Way on Monday and arguing over drugs when one of them shot the other in the left shoulder. The victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

North Point Precinct

Burglary: An air gun, battery analyzer and a pump, valued at nearly $3,000, were stolen over the weekend from Kenwood Systems in the 4600 block of North Point Blvd. The incident was reported Monday.

Towson Precinct

Robbery: A pizza deliveryman on his way to deliver an order Monday night was stopped at a traffic light at Colbury Road and Goucher Boulevard when a gunman came up to the car and robbed him of more than $100.

Robbery: A man was about to make a night deposit at the NationsBank branch in the 6700 block of York Road on Monday night when he was knocked to the pavement by three men, who stole a money bag containing an undisclosed sum. The three men drove off in a Ford Tempo.
