Woodlawn's rally drops Arundel

December 17, 1996|By FROM STAFF REPORTS

One year after suffering an 84-point loss to Arundel, host Woodlawn upset the fourth-ranked Wildcats, 61-52, yesterday.

Woodlawn (4-0), which was beaten by Arundel 103-19 last Dec. 15, outscored the Wildcats, 28-7, in the fourth quarter to erase a 12-point deficit.

"It's a new season," Woodlawn coach Dave Schreiner said. "We have all the kids back. Our team believes it can win."

Stephanie McPherson scored 18 points to lead the Warriors and Carissa Ingram-Hall added 16.

After going 52-3 the past two seasons, the Wildcats already have lost two of their first three games this season.

Sherice Proctor scored a game-high 20 points to pace the Wildcats.
