Outlook: The Nuggets have dropped eight straight, the longest current losing streak in the league. It has been a season of franchise lows for Denver: fewest offensive rebounds (one), Dec. 5 against Portland; fewest points in a quarter (nine), Dec. 1 against the Lakers; and fewest points in a game (65), Nov. 23 against Portland. The Nuggets also squandered the biggest halftime lead in NBA history (34) in a Nov. 27 loss to Utah. Five players average double figures in scoring, led by G Dale Ellis (19.9). The Bullets split their two games against Denver last season. F/C Lorenzo Williams (injured list, knee surgery) scrimmaged yesterday, but coach Jim Lynam said it's unlikely he'll be activated for the West Coast trip.
