Pasadena man forestalls attempt to steal car Driver punches robber at Sun Valley center

A Pasadena man foiled a carjacking Wednesday when he punched his assailant and ran, county police said.

Charles Patrick Miller, 24, of Lipins Corner told police he was leaving the Rite Aid Store at the Sun Valley Shopping Center in the 7900 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. about 8 p.m. when a man approached.

The man implied he had a gun and demanded Miller's keys, police said. Miller turned round, punched the man in the face, and ran back into the Rite Aid to call police.

The man fled. Police do not have a detailed description of him.

Gunman robs gas station on Fort Smallwood Road

A gunman robbed a Pasadena gas station of an undisclosed amount of money yesterday, county police said.

Two clerks told police the man walked into the convenience store of the Amoco station in the 7400 block of Fort Smallwood Road shortly after 1 a.m., placed a silver-colored handgun on the counter and demanded money. The man told the women the gun could fire through a protective screen.

The clerks gave the gunman money, and he ran toward Sycamore Road. Police did not have a detailed description of the bandit.

Gunman robs grocery on Mountain Road

A gunman wearing a suit robbed a Pasadena grocery store of an undisclosed amount of money Wednesday, county police said.

The man walked into Ed's Foodmart in the 100 block of Mountain Road about 6: 30 p.m., stood in an aisle until all the customers left and walked to the counter with a large handgun, police said.

The bespectacled man demanded money, and the clerk complied. The man walked behind the counter, took a carton of Marlboro cigarettes and a container of change and ran east on Mountain Road, police said.

Police do not have a detailed description of the gunman.

Pasadena: Someone cut the lock on the gate of a storage shed at Dale's Body Shop in the 3300 block of Mountain Road overnight Monday and stole four scrap radiators and four new aluminum bumpers, together valued at $1,400.
