Man with knife robs gas station on Route 2

A man with a knife lured a clerk from his booth yesterday and robbed a gas station of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.

Janak Sherestha, 42, told police a man walked into the convenience store at the Exxon station in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway about 3: 30 a.m. and asked for lids for the soda cups.

Sherestha left the booth to look for the lids and the man pulled a knife, forced the clerk behind the register and ordered him to open it.

The man took money and ran. Police did not have a detailed description of the suspect.

Glen Burnie: Someone broke into an apartment in the 400 block of Hiddenbrook Drive between 2: 30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday and stole a 27-inch television, two dozen compact discs, $100, a jacket and a camera, together valued at $930.
