Outlook: A win today would be the 1,000th in Loyola's 85-year history; its first came over Baltimore Medical College, 32-18, in 1908. This series began the following year, a game won by Loyola, 35-23. The Mountaineers lead the series, 87-63, and have won two straight. Last season, the Greyhounds were beaten in Emmitsburg, 83-73, despite 25 points from guard Mike Powell (13.3 ppg, 4.0 rpg).

Outlook: The Midshipmen, enjoying their best start since the 1986-87 season, won their fourth straight Thursday night by beating VMI, 68-62. Matt Sladky led the Navy with 13 points.

St. Francis (2-1) at Morgan State (0-2)

Outlook: This is the closest Morgan State has come to a breather, having lost on the road to Georgia Tech and Kansas State. Senior forward Chris Watson led the Bears with 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists in Saturday's 85-66 loss to the Wildcats. St. Francis (N.Y.), a member of the Northeast Conference, won last year's game, 87-69, but trails the series, 3-2.

Coppin State (0-2) vs. Colgate (3-2)

Site: Devaney Center, Lincoln, Neb.

Time: 7:30

Outlook: Coppin State couldn't handle Nebraska inside or out in its loss to the Cornhuskers in an opening-round game last night in the Ameritas Classic. Colgate, a loser to Bowling Green in the other opening-round game, is led by heralded big man Adonal Foyle.
