Man arrested in slaying at Arundel store

December 07, 1996|By TaNoah Morgan | TaNoah Morgan,SUN STAFF

Due to inaccurate information provided by police, an article Saturday about the arrest of an Anne Arundel County man wanted in the slaying of an Odenton liquor store owner listed an out-of-date address. The last address of Dean Lamont Prue Jr. is the 8300 block of Timberlake Court, Severn.

The Sun regrets the errors.

A Fort Meade man wanted in the slaying of Odenton liquor store owner Thomas Sung Hall was arrested in Texas early yesterday by U.S. marshals, ending a three-week search.

Dean Lamont Prue, Jr. 26, of the 3500 block of Endl Court was being held in the Galveston County jail awaiting an extradition hearing. He also is wanted in Anne Arundel County for failure to appear on traffic charges there and on drug charges in Howard County.

FOR THE RECORD - CORRECTION

A man walked up to the counter of Tom's Liquors and Korean Restaurant with a semiautomatic weapon about 7 p.m. Aug. 31 and opened fire, killing Hall, 63. Hall's wife, Sue Jin Hall, 56, was shot in the right leg, and two occupants of a van parked outside were wounded.

Anne Arundel police issued a warrant for Prue's arrest last month. U.S. marshals in Texas learned that Prue was staying with his girlfriend and her family in La Marque, Texas. They called the house, and the girlfriend's mother said Prue was there.

The federal officers went to the home about 12: 30 a.m. yesterday and arrested Prue.
