A Carroll County judge yesterday sentenced a Gaithersburg man to 15 months in prison for dragging a woman across a Mount Airy parking lot during an attempted robbery last December.
Circuit Judge Luke K. Burns Jr. suspended all but 15 months of a five-year prison term against Rodney W. Seabolt Jr., 20. Burns declined to suspend the entire term because of Seabolt's convictions in Montgomery and Frederick counties on theft and weapons charges.
The judge said that a Mount Airy woman was injured during the attempted robbery in a shopping center parking lot, and that the circumstances might have been worse if the strap on her purse had not broken.
