FTC Running backs

Bam Morris made some tough yards and showed occasional speed by breaking several runs outside. Earnest Byner ran hard and well on his 7-yard touchdown.

B

Quarterback

Vinny Testaverde made his biggest mistake with his second-quarter interception that halted a drive at the 1-yard line. He showed good mobility and improvised well when pressured.

B+

Receivers

Derrick Alexander may have had the best game of his career, but the Ravens didn't go to the receivers much in the second half because the running game was working so well.

Offensive line

The line did a good job picking up blitzes and allowed just one sack. Centers Wally Williams and Steve Everitt did a good job blocking nose tackle Joel Steed.

B+

Defensive line

Tackle Anthony Pleasant, hurt most of the season by an ankle injury, got a sack and tipped a pass. Tackle James Jones was solid despite playing through a leg injury. The group still needs to generate more of a pass rush, though.

Linebackers

This is the most improved group of the defense the past few weeks. Outside linebackers Mike Croel and Keith Goganious have turned it up a notch, and inside linebackers Mike Caldwell and Ray Lewis were dominant.

B

Secondary

The most maligned group of the defense turned in its best effort of the season. Safety Eric Turner led the way, making five tackles and some big plays at the end of the game.

B

Special teams

This was the group's best effort of the season. Jermaine Lewis returned a punt 46 yards to set up a touchdown, and Randy Baldwin returned two kickoffs for 54 yards, including a long of 34. Greg Montgomery averaged 45.8 yards a punt and Matt Stover hit his only field-goal attempt.
