Westminster: Firefighters from Pleasant Valley and Reese assisted Westminster at 9: 16 a.m. Thursday, responding to a chimney fire in the 300 block of Royer Road. Units were out 18 minutes.

Pleasant Valley: Firefighters responded at 5: 41 p.m. Thursday to a fire alarm in the 4600 block of Old Hanover Road. Units were out 15 minutes.

Police

Westminster: A New Jersey woman told police Thursday that someone stole jewelry from her room at the Comfort Inn, Western Maryland College Drive. The loss was estimated at $8,467.

Westminster: Mid-State Distributors of Chambersburg, Pa., reported Thursday that money and newspapers were stolen from coin boxes at various sites. The loss was estimated at $100.

Westminster: A Finksburg resident reported Thursday that someone stole a bicycle from the rear of the first block of W. Main St. The loss was estimated at $400.

Westminster: A resident of Goodwins Quarry Road told police that someone stole a hydraulic snowplow pump from his property between 6: 45 p.m. Wednesday and 6: 40 a.m. Friday. The loss was estimated at $600.

Westminster: Employees of Tevis Oil Inc. told police that someone stole a hydraulic pump and motor from a truck parked in the first block of John St. The loss was estimated at $863.
