2 killed, 1 hurt in crash in Joppa

Two drivers died yesterday when their cars collided head-on on Mountain Road in Joppa in Harford County, state police in Bel Air said.

Trooper John Heckner said that Howard W. Norman Sr., 64, of Glen Arm Road in Baltimore County was driving a 1996 Buick north on Mountain Road near Cheyenne Road about 12: 40 p.m. when his car crossed the center line for no apparent reason and crashed head-on into a southbound 1990 Ford Taurus driven by Barbara E. Britti, 55, of Wheaton in Montgomery County.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, Heckner said. Britti's husband, Dominic Anthony Britti, 66, a passenger in the Taurus, was in serious but stable condition with unspecified injuries at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, Heckner said.
