Woman killed in 2-vehicle crash

November 23, 1996

An Anne Arundel County woman was killed last night when her Pontiac collided head-on with a Mack dump truck after apparently trying to pass another car on the Baltimore Beltway near the Key Bridge.

Michele Lynn Robbins, 23, of the 900 block of Longview Ave in Riviera Beach was driving south on the Sparrows Point viaduct about two miles north of the Key Bridge shortly after 5 p.m. when she crossed the center line into the path of the truck, according to a spokeswoman for the Maryland Transportation Authority. That part of the Beltway is one lane in each directions, and no passing is allowed, said the spokeswoman, Lori A. Vidil.

Robbins was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, Lawrence Douglas Price, 28, of the 7800 E. Collingham Drive in Dundalk, was not injured.
