Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Central District

Theft from vehicle: A camcorder, flip phone, tools and compact discs, all valued at $4,000, were stolen yesterday from a 1988 Plymouth van parked in the 300 block of Park Ave.

Theft: A Harford County woman was in the 400 block of W. Lexington St. yesterday when she was stopped by a man who asked her for money. A second man then bumped into her and removed a wallet containing more than $40 from her coat pocket.

Northern District

Burglary: Tools valued at more than $60 were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 4200 block of Greenway by someone who stacked milk crates to reach a window.

Theft/arrests: A couple was arrested while trying to leave the cafeteria at Sinai Hospital in the 2400 block of W. Belvedere Ave. Wednesday without paying for food valued at $14.

Burglary: Stereo equipment, video games, a videocassette recorder and compact discs, all valued at nearly $900, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 300 block of E. 28th St.

Robbery: A man entered a house in the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle North on Wednesday on the pretense of using the telephone to call a cab, pulled a handgun and robbed the occupants of cash, jewelry, a videocassette recorder, compact discs and other property, all valued at nearly $2,000. The gunman fled.

Theft/arrest: Police arrested a woman who attempted to leave a Woolworth's store in the 3200 block of Greenmount Ave. on Wednesday without paying for clothing valued at nearly $40.

Northwestern District

Robbery: A woman was about to enter her apartment in the 4700 block of Wakefield Road on Wednesday when a man robbed her of $20.

Carjacking: A man was getting out of his 1994 Toyota pickup truck with tags 336343 in the 3500 block of Oakmont Ave. on Wednesday when a man who implied he had a handgun took the victim's keys and stole the truck.

Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 4500 block of Belvieu Ave. with a key Wednesday and stole a videocassette recorder valued at $200.

Western District

Robbery: A man was in the 1800 block of Appleton St. Wednesday when a man with a knife robbed him of a leather jacket and a cellular phone.

Theft: A circular saw valued at $60 was stolen from a construction site in the 1700 block of Frederick Ave. Wednesday.

Robbery: A man was walking in the first block of N. Carrollton Ave. on Wednesday when he was grabbed around the neck by another man who robbed him of $20.

White Marsh Precinct

Burglary/arrest: Two men suspected of entering a house in the 8600 block of Sherington Road on Wednesday and stealing a camcorder and a camera were pursued by police who caught one of them and recovered the property. Stolen car: A 4-door 1996 Ford Escort with temporary tags 65009 was stolen Wednesday in the first block of Virginia Ave.

Burglary: Someone entered the Sparta Inn in the 6400 block of North Point Road Wednesday and stole more than $200 from an office.

Vandalism: A 1996 Chevrolet Corsica was parked in the first block of Lombardy Drive when someone shattered a window valued at $150.
