Mobile home fire under investigation

The state fire marshal's office is trying to determine what ignited an Elkridge mobile home fire that caused $40,000 damage Monday, a spokesman for Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue said yesterday.

Although a woman and some children were home when the fire began about 5: 30 p.m., no one was injured, said Lt. Sean Kelly, a fire department spokesman.

Units from five Howard County fire stations responded to the single-alarm blaze in the 400 block of Deep Run Parkway in Elkridge.

Fire officials believe the blaze started in a bedroom of the mobile home.
