Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Eastern District

Escape: Eric Till, 30, an inmate at Maryland Correctional Pre-Release Center in the 900 block of Greenmount Ave., failed to show at his work-release job Monday. Till was serving 10 years for violation of probation and was to have been released soon, said a spokesman for the state Division of Correction. The man's description and last known address were not immediately available.

Central District

Shooting: A 31-year-old homeless woman was walking in the 2300 block of Callow Ave. yesterday when two teen-age boys shot her in the face and legs with a BB pistol. The woman was treated at Maryland General Hospital.

Robbery/arrest: A man was placing newspapers inside vending boxes in the 700 block of N. Calvert St. yesterday morning when a man he knows struck him with a bottle and robbed him of his watch. When the suspect got into the man's truck, the man pulled him from the vehicle. A short time later, a suspect was arrested in the 500 block of Cathedral St. and the man's watch was recovered. The man was treated at Mercy Medical Center. James Kevin Sheets, 32, of the 3300 block of Bero Road in Lansdowne was charged with assault and armed robbery.

Theft from vehicle: A compact disc player, camera, sunglasses and tools, all valued at nearly $900, were stolen yesterday from a 1990 Ford truck parked in the 500 block of Cider Alley.

Northern District

Theft: A hand truck valued at more than $200 was stolen Monday from a delivery truck parked in the 2300 block of St. Paul St.

Theft: A cellular phone valued at $100 was stolen from a 1986 Ford pickup truck parked in the 2100 block of N. Charles St. on Monday.

Northwestern District

Shooting: A man was standing next to a tree in the 4500 block of Pimlico Road on Monday when a passenger in a passing white car shot him in the leg. The victim was treated at Sinai Hospital. No arrest had been made.

Assault: A Baltimore County man was in critical condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after he was severely beaten by unknown assailants in the 3600 block of W. Belvedere Ave. Monday night.

Robbery: A man was left standing in his underwear in the 3600 block of Gwynn Oak Ave. Monday night after a gunman robbed him of his pants, coat, shirt, tennis shoes, watch, wallet, cash and jewelry, all valued at more than $400.

Southwestern District

Robbery: A gunman robbed Chang's food market in the 2500 block of W. Fairmount Ave. of about $100 Monday.

Stolen car: A 1988 Acura Legend with tags 692 ADS was stolen in the 900 block of Walnut Ave. Monday.

Parkville Precinct

Burglary: A key-making machine and a metal grinder were stolen Monday from a shed in the 8300 block of Morven Road.

Garrison Precinct

Robbery: An employee at Papa John's pizza in the 11700 block of Reisterstown Road was about to make a delivery at a house in the first block of Brookbury Drive Monday night when three men grabbed him and stole food and beverages valued at nearly $20.
