Police arrested two Catonsville men and a girl Tuesday on drug charges after an officer stopped their car for allegedly speeding.

Eric Sebastian Tsambikos, 20, of the 400 block of Overbrook Road; Jason Michael Kroner, 18, of the 300 block of Stafford Drive, and the girl, 17, of Catonsville were charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and underage possession of alcohol.

Tsambikos also was charged with speeding, giving police a false name and failing to display his license.

According to police, Officer William Daughters was southbound on New Cut Road about 10: 30 p.m. when he saw a 1987 Pontiac Grand Am that appeared to be speeding.

Daughters paced the car going as fast as 61 mph in a 40 mph zone, police said, and stopped it as it turned left onto Burkhardt ++ Lane.

The driver told the officer that he didn't have his license or registration but that he was 24 years old, police said.

The driver tried to give his brother's name and birth date, but when questioned further, gave his real name, police said.

While speaking to the driver, Daughters smelled marijuana, police said. Daughters and another officer asked the driver and the front-seat passenger to get out, police said. The male passenger told police there was marijuana in a backpack under his seat, police said.

The officers found 308 grams of what later tested positive for marijuana packaged in six sandwich bags, and a scale in the backpack, police said.

Police also said the officers found 24 cans of Bud Light, 11 bottles of Bass Ale and 12 bottles of Budweiser in the back seat of the car.
