Rowenberry? Rowanberry? Road spelling to be checked

Investigators from the Howard County Bureau of Highways will soon look into why new signs on northbound and southbound U.S. 1 pointing to Rowanberry Drive apparently are misspelled.

Although neighborhood street signs spell the name Rowanberry, new directional signs on U.S. 1 spell the road's name Rowenberry.

Andy Daneker, chief of the Highways Bureau, said officials were unaware of the discrepancy, but he said the signs will be examined today or Monday.

After viewing the signs, the investigators will file a report on whether the county-owned signs are indeed misspelled.

Faulty vowels would be replaced a week after the report is filed, at a cost of $160.
