Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Southern District

Robbery try/arrest: Police arrested a man who tried to rob the Dipal Food Market in the 1000 block of W. Cross St. yesterday. The suspect struck an employee with a metal pipe. Other employees subdued the suspect and held him for police. A 26-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with attempted armed robbery and assault. The injured employee was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center and released.

Burglary: A 70,000 BTU heater valued at nearly $200 was stolen yesterday from Eastern Packaging OST Industries Inc. in the 2100 block of Wicomico St. The thief or thieves entered through the ceiling.

Robbery: A deliveryman for Pepperoni Post in the 3700 block of Annapolis Road was in the 2100 block of Puget St. on Wednesday to deliver an order when a man robbed him of food valued at nearly $10. Police said a false address was given to the deliveryman.

Northeastern District

Robbery: A woman was in the 3000 block of Tivoly Ave. on Wednesday when two men robbed her of a purse containing cash and property, all of unknown value.

Burglary: A bank containing $500 was stolen from a house in the 3700 block of Ravenwood Road on Wednesday.

Burglary: Property valued at $200 was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 1200 block of Kitmore Road.

Burglary: Property valued at more than $1,000 was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 4400 block of Parkwood Ave.

Northern District

Theft: An 81-year-old man was in an elevator in the Johnson Building at Union Memorial Hospital in the 200 block of E. University Parkway on Tuesday with three other men. One of the others appeared to have fainted, and when the elderly man tried to help, one of the other men took the elderly man's wallet from a back pants pocket. The victim lost $25.

Burglary: A television and videocassette recorder, all valued at $600, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 3900 block of Greenspring Ave.

Theft: A snowplow blade valued at $700 was stolen Wednesday from behind the Exxon station in the 4400 block of Falls Road.

Stolen car: A 1987 Honda Accord with tags AXR 831 was stolen Wednesday in the 100 block of Woodson Road.

Theft try: A man tried to steal several movie tapes from Blockbuster Video in the 400 block of E. 33rd St. on Wednesday but was stopped by an employee and left the store. As the suspect waved goodbye to employees from outside the store in a flippant manner, he unknowingly dropped his driver's license on the pavement. A warrant has been issued for the man's arrest.

Northwestern District

Burglary: A videocassette recorder and stereo equipment, all valued at nearly $300, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 3500 block of Springdale Ave.

Central District

Robbery: A man robbed the Chesapeake Federal Saving & Loan Association in the 200 block of N. Charles St. yesterday after giving a teller a note demanding only $20 bills.
