Good chemistry

Miss that Bunsen burner? Long for those days measuring with beakers? The Maryland Science Center has a day planned for those of you who never could get enough of those chemistry labs in high school. To honor National Chemistry Week (Nov. 11-17), the Science Center is having "Chem Day" on Sunday, with live demonstrations, experiments, exhibits, on-floor explainers and a presentation from the center's Traveling Science Program staff. So pay attention.

The Maryland Science Center is at 601 Light St. Regular admission of $9 for adults and $7 for children gets you into all exhibits. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call (410) 685-5225. Get ready to cuddle up with that lovable storybook favorite. Winnie the Pooh is coming to town Saturday. Grab your red rain coat and honey pot. That cute yellow bear cub everyone adores is coming to Borders Books & Music. Winnie will visit the children's department, entertain and play games, including "Pin the Tail on Eeyore," and join children for juice and cookies.

Winnie the Pooh will visit Borders Books & Music, 415 York Road, Towson, on Saturday at 11 a.m. Free. Advance, in-person registration is required. For more information, call (410) 296-0791.
