Man with knife holds up store

November 12, 1996

A man armed with a knife robbed a Glen Burnie convenience store yesterday of an undisclosed amount, county police said.

The man walked into the 7-11 in the 7700 block of Quarterfield Road shortly after midnight, brandished the knife and ordered the clerk, Johanna Knox, to give him "all the money," police said.

The clerk emptied the cash drawer and handed the money to the robber, who fled on foot, police said.

Two health systems talk of pediatric partnership

North Arundel Health System and Mount Washington Pediatric Health System in Baltimore are negotiating another partnership to provide pediatric care at North Arundel Hospital in Glen Burnie.

The talks between James R. Walker, president and chief executive officer of North Arundel, and Frank Pommett, president of pediatric system, are "really very much in the preliminary stages," said Rosemary LaVista, spokeswoman for the pediatric system.

In August, North Arundel and the pediatric system formed a partnership to create an outpatient pediatric rehabilitation program for children with traumatic head injuries and speech difficulties. That program operates in the Empire Medical Building on Hospital Drive.
