UM women lose ACC soccer quarterfinal

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Jennifer Crawford's goal from 10 yards midway through the second half proved to be the game winner as No. 3 seed Clemson defeated No. 6 Maryland, 2-1, yesterday in the quarterfinal round of the Atlantic Coast Conference soccer tournament.

Crawford's goal, her 13th of the season, came at 65: 51 and pushed the Tigers' lead to 2-0. Clemson (14-5-1) opened the scoring in the 38th minute on a header by Lissa Mansberry off a direct kick.

Keri Sarver scored the only goal for the Terps (17-4-1) with just under five minutes left in the game.
