Police arrest escaped youth

A 15-year-old boy who was stopped by Westminster police for driving without headlights about midnight Tuesday is being held at the Charles P. Hickey School in Baltimore County pending action by juvenile authorities.

The boy is wanted for escaping from a juvenile correctional facility in the Cumberland area, police said.

Security officers at Western Maryland College told police that they had seen a car with its headlights off. Officers stopped the vehicle on Longwell Street.

Police charged the youth with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving without a license and possession of tobacco. He also was cited for a seat-belt violation and the headlight violation.


Pleasant Valley: Firefighters from Littlestown, Pa., assisted Pleasant Valley at 9: 10 p.m. Tuesday, responding for a carbon monoxide alarm in the 2700 block of Church St. Units were out 56 minutes.
