Sykesville seeks builders for park restroom project

November 05, 1996

Sykesville is advertising for contractors to build restrooms in Cooper Park.

A $40,000 Project Open Space grant from the state Department of Natural Resources will pay for construction of two lavatories and a snack bar in the park, which runs along Route 32.

A brick exterior was originally planned, but the town Historic District Commission has recommended stone to complement surrounding buildings.

The Town Council is not as concerned with the material used on the outside of the building as with designing the structure to deter vandalism.

Bids are due by Nov. 25 at the Town House, 7547 Main Street. Information: 795-6390.
