Knights of Columbus council to honor deceased members

ARCHBISHOP KEOUGH COUNCIL of the Order of the Knights of Columbus joins other councils throughout the world to honor deceased members with a Memorial Mass at 8 p.m. tomorrow in Columbian Hall on Becknel Ave in Odenton.

The Rev. John Harrison, council chaplain, will be the celebrant. After his homily, 36 candles in a large wooden cross will be lighted one by one as the names of the deceased members are called out in order of the anniversary dates of their deaths.

Relatives and friends of the deceased are invited to attend.

The council also will conduct an Italian Night dinner from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in the Columbian Hall.

Tickets purchased in advance are $7 for adults, $5 for children 6-12. Children 5 and under eat for free.

Ticket prices at the door are $1 more. Carryout dinners will be available, and phone orders will be accepted. Call (401) 674-5637.

Church fish fry

The Severn United Methodist Church is holding a fish fry and auction Friday at the church, 1215 Old Camp Meade Road, to raise money to pave the church parking lot.

The fish fry is scheduled from 4: 30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $5.

Auction items go on display at 5 p.m. Bidding, directed by auctioneer Doug Rolls, will start at 7 p.m.

Almost 200 items, including furniture, kitchen appliances, dishes, a quilted wall hanging and Christmas items will be available.

Appreciation brunch

The Retired Officers' Wives' will hold a Veterans' Appreciation Brunch at 11: 30 a.m. Sunday at the Fort Meade Officers' club. The deadline for reservations is Thursday.
