Gordon is chosen CFO of Ginger Cove

Ginger Cove selected Patricia L. Gordon as chief financial officer with responsibility for the daily financial operations of the Annapolis retirement/life-care community. A certified public accountant and graduate of the University of Maryland, she was most recently the organization's director of financial services.

Tepperman to head KCI hazardous waste unit

KCI Technologies, the Hunt Valley-based environmental-engineering firm, announced the appointment of Mark S. Tepperman as senior associate and head of its hazardous waste division.

A master's graduate of West Virginia University, he was previously chief of remedial services for Brown & Root Environmental and, before that, a senior scientist with JTC Environmental Consultants.

Altman to direct PR for Rent-A-Wreck

Rent-A-Wreck of America, a car rental company headquartered in Owings Mills, has chosen Al Altman director of public relations. He will be responsible for news desemination for local franchises as well as national and international public relations.

He was previously marketing director for Indusco and the Crown Shade Co., both of Baltimore. A Rodgers Forge resident, he is a University of Pennsylvania graduate.

Sandy Spring Bank hires Berkey and Stranix

Sandy Spring National Bank announced that James A. Berkey and Melanie Stranix have joined the Olney-based bank as vice president/senior trust portfolio manager and trust officer, respectively.

Berkey, a University of Michigan graduate formerly with Alex. Brown & Sons, will have management responsibility of client portfolios. Stranix, who will administer custody, investment and trust accounts, is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.
