North County High parents to hold Christmas craft show

NORTH COUNTY High School Parents Club will sponsor its annual Beary Christmas Craft Show from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Nov. 9 in the school cafeteria.

Holiday country crafts will be on display. Soup, sandwiches and other refreshments will be available. The Knights School Store will be open.

The school is at 10 E. 1st Ave.

Resurrection's flea market

Resurrection Lutheran Church, 601 Hammonds Lane, will sponsor an indoor flea market from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.

Tables are available for those with items to sell.

Winter basketball

Basketball anyone?

Brooklyn Park Youth Athletic Association invites boys and girls ages 5 to 15 to register for the winter basketball season.

Registration will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays at the Sugar Shack on the 10th Avenue fields.

Fees are $30 for one child, $50 for two children and $5 for each additional child.

PTA membership drive

Membership dues for Brooklyn Park/Lindale Middle School PTA are being collected. Dues are $5 for families and $3 for single memberships.

Homecoming honors

Congratulations to North County High School seniors Kiki Ellis and Keturah Drake who were crowned homecoming king and queen for 1996.

Members of their court are Amy Augustowski, Sara Austin, Laura Williman, Tom Lathroum, Kenny Parks and Sonio Perserpio.

The Parents Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the office conference room to finish planning the craft show.

Aerobics classes

Stay in shape for the holidays by joining the county Department of Recreation and Parks evening programs.

Step aerobics is being offered at Belle Grove Elementary School, 4502 Belle Grove Road, and bio-aerobics will be held at Brooklyn Park/Lindale Middle School, 415 Andover Road.

The seven-week step aerobics class offers a nondance format. Steps are provided. Classes will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning Nov. 18. The cost is $45.50.

Bio-aerobics helps participants strengthen and tone muscle groups and increase flexibility in a mat/floor format. Classes will take place from 7: 45 p.m. to 8: 45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Nov. 19 and continuing for seven weeks. The cost is $45.50.

Choir fund-raising

St. John Lutheran Church choir is raising money by selling the Entertainment Book, which contains hundreds of two-for-one discounts for dining, fast food, movies, sports activities, special attractions and hotel accommodations.

Books are $35, with a portion of the proceeds helping to pay for the choir's music program.
