Capitals tonight

November 01, 1996

Opponent: Pittsburgh Penguins

Where: USAir Arena, Landover

Time: 7: 30

TV/Radio: HTS/WTEM (570 AM)

Outlook: The Capitals (4-6) play host to Pittsburgh tonight and are at the New York Islanders tomorrow night. If all goes well they could be at .500 by Sunday, quite a turnaround after a 1-5 start. The Capitals are led by Jason Allison's five goals and Phil Housley's nine points and have won three of their last four. The Penguins (2-8) have lost three straight. Their last victory was against the Caps in Pittsburgh two weeks ago. Pittsburgh is led by Mario Lemieux (five goals, eight assists), Ron Francis (three -- goals, six assists) and Jaromir Jagr (six goals, one assist). Penguins RW Tomas Sandstrom (groin), who has played in just three of the team's 10 games, is probable.
