Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Eastern District

Drug arrest : Police arrested a 16-year-old boy on drug charges yesterday morning as they searched a home for a slaying suspect. The person wanted on a murder warrant was not at the house in the 700 block of N. Glover St., but police found five illegal cellular phones, 4 ounces of pure crack cocaine worth an estimated $14,000 and more than $1,200. The 16-year-old was charged as a juvenile.

Northwestern District

Shooting: Two men were wounded Wednesday in a fight over pigeons. A 20-year-old man argued with a 26-year-old man about 3 p.m. in the back yard of a house in the 4300 block of Ridgewood Ave. The 20-year-old ran to a car to get a .40-caliber handgun. The men struggled, and the 20-year-old shot the other man in the chest and himself in the foot. The man shot in the chest was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in satisfactory condition last night. The gunman was treated for his injury, taken into custody and charged with assault.

Western District

Malicious destruction: Albert Wylie Funeral Home in the 600 block of N. Gilmor St. was vandalized between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2: 30 a.m. yesterday. The front steps of the business were spray painted, as were two cars -- a 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood limousine and a passenger car. The tires on each car also were slashed.

Wilkens Precinct

Robbery: A 39-year-old Catonsville man entered the Royal Farms store in the 500 block of Edmondson Ave. shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday, brandishing a silver-handled knife and demanded money from the cashier. He took about $120. He was arrested at the corner of Old Frederick Road and Harlem Lane. The money was recovered.

Purse snatching: A 36-year-old woman was getting out of her car in the 6300 block of Frederick Road about 12: 50 p.m. yesterday when a man in his 30s, wearing a dark blue denim uniform, grabbed her purse. The victim struggled with her assailant and sprained two fingers on her left hand. The man ran off with the purse and the $275 it contained.

Woodlawn Precinct

Purse snatching: A man accosted a woman about 11: 30 a.m. yesterday in the first block of Retinue Court and stole her handbag. He took credit cards and a driver's license but no cash.

Attempted burglary arrest: Two men were arrested in the attempted theft of a lawn mower from a shed in the yard of a house in the 7400 block of Remoor Road.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: A potted plant was used to smash the window in the back door of a house in the 100 block of Longridge Court. The incident occurred between 7 a.m. and 7: 30 a.m. Wednesday. It was not immediately known what was taken.

White Marsh Precinct

Burglary: Three candy vending machines were stolen between Wednesday night and yesterday morning from a transmission repair shop in the 7000 block of Philadelphia Road.

North Point Precinct

Stolen auto: A 1991 Honda Accord with Marylan tags DRJ 306 was taken from the 100 block of Fleming Drive between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. yesterday.
