Avalanche: Announced that F Claude Lemieux, a member of Stanley Cup winning teams each of the last two seasons, underwent successful surgery to repair a torn abdominal muscle and is expected to be sidelined 10-12 weeks.
AHL: Suspended St. John's G Marcel Cousineau for one game for striking a Saint John player with his blocker in a game on Oct. 26.
