Man empties stolen purse, escapes on foot

October 23, 1996

A Pasadena woman was robbed Monday by a man who yanked her purse from her shoulder in the parking lot of North Arundel Nursing and Convalescent Center, county police said yesterday.

Marsha D. Brown, 48, told police she was in the parking lot in the 300 block of Hospital Drive shortly after 4 p.m. when a man ran up behind her and snatched her purse.

The man ran along the fence next to the North Arundel Hospital parking garage, jumped the fence, and continued toward the 7800 block of Tall Pines Court, police said.

There, witnesses told police, the man emptied the purse, taking cash and other items, dropped the purse and ran, police said.

Police used a dog to search for the suspect, but could not find him. He is described as a 25-year-old white male, about 5-foot-11, with a thin build and long, shaggy hair. He was wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans, and had a silver chain hanging from his waist.
