Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Central District

Shooting: Two men were leaving a convenience store in the 400 block of W. Saratoga St. about 3 a.m. yesterday when the occupant of a passing Burgundy-colored car shot one of them in the stomach and the other in the right knee and right ankle. One of the victims was in critical condition at University of Maryland Medical Center, where the other was in stable condition.

Robbery: A man was in the 1200 block of W. North Ave. yesterday when a gunman robbed him of $27 and then struck him in the face.

Burglary: Copper piping of unknown value was stolen between Thursday and yesterday from the Fire Department's recently closed Engine Company 1 in the 400 block of W. North Ave.

Assault/arrest: Police arrested a man yesterday after he allegedly threatened a foreman at a construction site in the 600 block of E. Fayette St. with a knife. The man told police that the foreman fired him three years ago. Albert Tate, 42, of the 2600 block of W. Fairmount Ave., was charged with aggravated assault.

Theft: A brass elephant valued at $300 was stolen yesterday from Payan's Oriental Rugs in the 700 block of N. Howard St.

Northeastern District

Robbery: A man was robbed of a gold chain, $7 and a pack of cigarettes, all valued at more than $500, by a gunman in the 4000 block of Chesterfield Ave. on Sunday. Police arrested a suspect.

Burglary: A watch and a diamond ring, all valued at nearly $2,000, were stolen Sunday from an apartment in the 1900 block of W. 31st St.

Burglary: A gas-powered lawn mower and a pressure washer, all valued at nearly $800, were stolen from a garage in the 1300 block of Argonne Drive yesterday.

Robbery: A man was walking in the 5600 block of Force Road yesterday when a gunman robbed him of his jacket and a ring, all valued at more than $100.

Southwestern District

Shooting: A 29-year-old man told police that he was purchasing drugs in the 600 block of Poplar Grove St. yesterday afternoon when a man shot him in the leg. The victim was treated at University of Maryland Medical Center and released.

Northern District

Burglary: A truck, trailer, tractor, backhoe, plants and shrubs, all valued at $25,000, were stolen Saturday or Sunday from Landscape Management in the 1600 block of W. 41st St.

Stolen car: A 1982 Volkswagen van with handicap tags 27153 was stolen Sunday in the 100 block of E. 33rd St.

White Marsh Precinct

Burglaries: Two houses in the 4300 block of Kenwood Ave. were broken into Sunday. From one house, a leather jacket, compact disc player and other items, all valued at more than $1,100, were stolen; from the other, tools of unknown value were taken.

Towson Precinct

Robbery try: A man was about to enter his car in the 200 block of E. Susquehanna Ave. Sunday night when two men, one reportedly armed with a handgun, demanded his money. After the man said he had no money, he got into his car and drove off. The armed man and his accomplice escaped.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: A diamond ring, cash, 12-gauge shotgun, .22-caliber rifle and a .45-caliber handgun were stolen Sunday from a house in the 300 block of Kauffman Road in Parkton.

Burglary: At least $1,000 was stolen Saturday from a safe at Graffitis in the first block of E. Padonia Road.

Wilkens Precinct

Burglary/arrest: A 30-year-old man was arrested Saturday while breaking into a storage room at the Howard Johnson restaurant and motel in the 5700 block of Baltimore National Pike.
